This past weekend (Saturday-Sunday February 7-8) a group of 15 students plus our campus minister, Shannon Waite took 24 hours out of our crazy college schedule and headed out to Lake Anna for our annual Spring Retreat. We stayed in a beautiful and expansive log house in the woods. Our theme was “I am…” and we talked about who we are and how we are different as individuals, but also how we function as a group and how better to serve the Kingdom of God as a group using our individual skills and talents. We had in depth conversations about who we are, what we desire and what we wish to give that drew us closer to each other and allowed for a time of meaningful fellowship. In the morning, following our scrumptious breakfast of Cinnamon roll French toast casserole and hash brown casserole, Shannon lead us in a worship service complete with communion (YAY ordination!!).
And of course what would a CCC retreat be without a couple of late night rounds of mafia and a chorus of sanctuary?!
