For the last Girls Group of the year, we had our annual Garden Party where we all dressed up, had dinner in the backyard and posed for many pictures in the garden!
On Devil-Goat day, a UMW tradition since the 1926, the CCC hosted its Senior Table Talk. After a delicious meal of breakfast for dinner, we moved the couches and the seniors sat in a line in front of everyone. The focus shifted from senior to senior as the juniors, sophomores, and freshmen shared our favorite memories and what we have admired about each senior over the last few years. The seniors also shared their favorite memories of each other. After everything was said, Shannon Waite, the Campus Minister, presented the seniors with their senior gifts. Each student received a comfy blue blanket with “Campus Christian Community” embroidered on the corner and a card with the quote,
“If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” – Mister Rogers.
The Sunday before Finals week, we gathered at the CCC for the semesterly Pancakes at Midnight at 9PM. Students prepared batches of pancakes and everyone enjoyed a late meal of pancakes together before Finals Week officially began.
The first two days of Finals week, we enjoyed Exam Dinners prepared by the Board of Directors and one of student’s families. For the remainder of the week, students came and went, studying for their finals and taking much needed study breaks as well as enjoying each other’s company as everyone prepared to depart for the summer.
Have a fun (and safe) summer!
